There is a certain unwritten power given to the bikini. It can bring about superstardom with the right exposure, no pun intended, and of course, the right body. Many actresses can attribute their fame to a simple scene in a bikini. Young actresses who have made a name for themselves are still being encouraged, however, to expose more skin in order to bring them into the superstardom ranks.
Take for example, Krystal Forscutt. Talent scouts sought her out from the Big Brother Australia reality show in 2006 where she later appeared on the front cover of several world-famous magazines. Although she had begun making a name for herself, it wasn’t until her bikini portfolio hit the front pages of FHM, Ralph and Zoo Magazine that her career advanced into superstardom. She is also featured in the video game Need for Speed. While fame and fortune have graced Krystal, sources at the Herald Sun in Australian reveal that she wants to pursue a profession that is more “mentally stimulating.” What ever her career choice, she will always be remembered for her fleshy sexy bikini photos.
Similarly, Priyamani, a young actress from India, was made famous for her role in the movie Paruthiveeran. However, her director has convinced her to accept another movie role wearing a bikini because this would greatly advance her career. From a culture where women are traditionally covered, Priyamani inherently expressed reluctance. It was reinforced that Nayanthara, another actress from India, became famous after her bikini act. According to sources by Movie buzz, Priyamani now realize that superstardom is achieved through glamour and style as opposed to awards and films. Even though she has accepted a bikini role, photos will not be available until after the movie has aired.
Although the bikini is not a new fad, it continues to gain fame from those who have chosen to reveal their sexy bodies in it. As a result, the power of the bikini seems to work twofold in that those who wear it leap into superstardom thus, giving power to the bikini. Now this is not to say that, if you or I wore a bikini, we would become instantly famous. However, strolling along the beach in a bikini, as opposed to a one piece bathing suit, would definitely get us some attention. As a result, we have experienced the power of the bikini.
