Vacations are more fun when you are in top “bikini body”
shape!

You have an upcoming vacation and you want to look your best. When you hit
the beach, you want to make sure you have a head-turning, hot bikini body. You
will have a much more enjoyable vacation if you feel sexy. You will most likely
take tons of photos as well, so you will want to make sure that your body looks
in top “bikini body” shape. When you are 80 years old, you can look back on
those amazing photo’s and brag at how attractive you were when you were younger.

It is easier to achieve a great “bikini body”, when you have an
event coming up!

Not only are vacations more fun when you look good, it is easier to do what is necessary when you know that you will be in a bikini soon. Most women know what they need to do to get in top bikini body shape, it is just so easy to get
off course from their diets or workout routines. I recommend grabbing pictures of your vacation spot and posting them up somewhere for you to see daily. Also, find pictures of attractive women who have a bikini body that you would like to strive towards.

Getting ready for an upcoming vacation is 1/2 the fun of taking a vacation!

Most vacations last only 7-10 days. A great way to extend that vacation is spending weeks working hard to get in the best bikini body shape of your life. Obviously shopping for a vacation is fun, but reaching a high level of fitness can be fun as well. Consistently doing what is necessary to get in top bikini body shape is actually very rewarding. Honestly, if you look your best, everything will be more enjoyable.

Some basic and proven steps to getting a rocking “bikini body”:

1) Eat less calories than normal each day. I know this sounds basic, but if you burn more calories than what you eat…you will lose weight! For best bikini body results, do this at least two months out from your vacation.

2) Do all cardio on an empty stomach. Make sure you don’t have any carbs in your system before performing cardio. This will ensure that you burn fat and not carb calories stored in your muscles. Ingesting a calorie-free caffeine drink will give you energy to hit the cardio hard. You will burn fat off your improving bikini body on a regular basis, if stick to this rule. Try to not eat any calories of any sort 3-4 hours before working out.

3) Perform cardio at least one hour per day, 3 weeks out from your vacation date. Hitting the cardio for one hour per day, 21 days in a row, will burn that last bit of stubborn body fat off that bikini body of yours. Very few people will ever workout 21 days in a row in their lifetime.

Very few people will ever get in their best bikini body shape. If you have the willpower to workout 21 days in a row without fail, you will reach a level that few ever reach.

4) Workout at the gym 3-4 days per week. Hitting the weights will have some effect on achieving a sleek bikini body, it just won’t have as dramatic of an effect as cardio and diet. Stick with a basic lifting regime and you should be fine. You could probably get a good resistance workout in 15-20 minutes. A bikini body is more about burning off stubborn body fat and less about building muscle.

5) Tan that bikini body of yours. You don’t want to overdue it, but 10 sessions of 10-15 minutes at a tanning salon will give you a bit of color and make your body look more appealing. Also, make sure and apply lotion daily to make your skin glow.

Summary: Hopefully this gives you a great mind set into what it takes to get that bikini body ready for the beach. You can’t go wrong with sticking with the basics…low calories and lots of cardio. There are a few select sources of more advanced information on the Internet, but most is geared towards bulking up…this isn’t the type of advice you will want to follow. A great bikini body is about lower body fat, not bigger muscles.

Ooh-la-la! Brigitte Bardot, or BB as she was known, or even just ‘Bardot’, practically invented the bikini. More than that fateful 2-piece garment, she invented a whole niche industry for fashion, press and film representing an untapped age segment, that, up until her appearance on the cover of Paris magazine Elle in 1950 at age 16, was entirely ignored and unknown.

The world of teenagers.

It sounds so much prettier in French–the unexplored canvas of les juenes filles, or the ‘young girls’. Up until this point in time, only women or children were so portrayed by the media–there was no fashion or magazines devoted to teenagers–there were only grown-up married women in tweedy Chanel suits and crisp Dior shirt-waisted dresses or chubby, red-cheeked school girls in serge uniforms of navy and grey. No pubescent girls like Bardot at the beach in a Hawaiian print bikini!

Even Nabokov’s tale of a child-woman, Lolita, who seduces a much, much older man would not yet be written (or banned) for a further five years! BB created a fashion all her own; a look that overtook the formality and heavy construction of the Parisian couturiers ‘New Look’. Barefoot, bikini-clad, her wild, tangled mane of hair as frisky as a Camargue horse’s tail –she exuded insouciance, freedom, carefree-ness, juxtaposed alongside an aching, budding sexuality. Let’s put it this way–she was sex on legs.

And she dressed like that. Like a jeune fille, a teenager– although at that time, mind you, there was no template for dressing like one. A simple, fitted camisoled-cotton sun dress, a stripey sailor’s tee exposing both shoulders (now known as a Bardot neckline), boy shorts, Capri trousers–always girlie, flirty, never lewd, but casual, and always mostly barefoot–always unstudied and flung-together. In fact, her look was the opposite of say, someone like the divine Miss Dita von Teese whose every ensemble is a creative tour de force of planned elegant sexuality.

Bardot, with her nubile, seductive and completely natural sensuality–encased by her full, naturally pouty bee-stung lips, bed hair, perfectly erect posture from her training as a ballet dancer and her proportionately, womanly curves–caused indignation, unrest, arrests, event threats of immorality– when she was launched onto a bigger screen in her husband Roger Vadim’s 1956 film And God Created Woman.

Bardot, cast as the voracious, sexually wanton Juliete, became a cause celebre and went from jeune fille to God’s gift to Men. Her carioca dance scene where she drives the 3 main male characters into an erotic frenzy has become a defining moment in cinematography. She was adjudged by the editor of Paris-Match to be ‘immoral from head to toe’. Of course, all this furore and clamor to ban her did was to elevate and promote her status to an even higher pedestal–that of budding sex goddess!

Bardot went on to make more than 50 films before ‘retiring’ and withdrawing to her beloved beaches of St. Tropez at age 39, devoting herself to animal and political causes. She assiduously eschewed the glitz and artifice of high fashion, make-up, plastic surgery and the spotlight, instead choosing to follow her desires and pleasures on her own terms.

Of course the irony today is that all women want to dress like ‘jeunes filles’ forever, and all women want to look like Bardot.

Finding the right bikini for your body is an annual ordeal. You can nearly always guarantee that if the bottoms fit, the top will be too small, and if the top fits, the bottoms will make your backside look massive. I’ve got some top tips for you on choosing the right swimwear to flatter your body shape.

Pear shaped
The pear shape is said to be British women’s most common body type and it just means you have a larger bottom half than top half. It doesn’t sound a very flattering shape, but actually it just means you are more voluptuous on the bottom half and as a plus you probably have a lovely flat stomach too! If you want to draw attention away from your bottom half, a great way to do this is by wearing a pretty and detailed bikini top to draw attention to your bust. By maximising your bust it’ll be easy for you to look sexy and voluptuous in your bikini! Try to avoid bandeau styles as these will only minimise your curves. Bikini bottoms that cut across the widest part of your hips will look the most flattering on you. Choose bikini bottoms with side ties so you can adjust them to the most flattering position for you, but keep away from boy shorts as these will make your hips look bigger. Always make sure the bottom half of your bikini fits well, as there’s nothing guaranteed to make you look bigger than ill-fitting or too tight bikini bottoms.

Apple shaped
If you’re a classic apple shape, then you probably have a less well defined waist and smaller hips. Actually it’s not that you don’t have a small waist, it’s just that you have such slim hips! On the bonus side you probably have a great bust and lovely long legs too! So focus on these and create the illusion of curves by picking bikinis with string ties, ruffles, belt, or pretty bow details. Try to steer clear of too small a bikini bottom as these won’t flatter your shape, instead go for bikini bottoms with high cut legs that lengthen your legs and draw attention away from your waist. Sexy boy shorts would also work well on you. Avoid halter necks because these will just lengthen your top half, also steer clear of horizontal stripes as these will just draw attention back to your waist. If you feel you need to cover up your tummy chose a tankini or swimsuit in a nice simple style and a pretty pattern.

Hourglass
If you’re lucky enough to have an hourglass figure then you can flaunt it in just about any style and that includes even the teeniest of bikinis! Sexy high cut bikini bottoms will look good on you and will make your legs look long. Just make sure you don’t squeeze those curves into too small a bikini because you don’t want any wardrobe malfunctions on the beach!

Slim or atheletic
A slim or atheletic figure may lack some of the curves of an hourglass, but as a bonus you’ll have a slim waist and a slight figure – lucky you! Bikini tops with ruffles or pretty prints will look flattering on you. A halter neck is also a good look as it’ll help to accentuate your bust, you could also try bikini tops with extra padding for maximum effect! You’ll look great in boy shorts and bikinis with tie sides which will help to give you a curvier look. Try to avoid boring mono block swimsuits as these will be the least flattering for you – pretty pattern and lots of feminine detail are the key for you!

Top tips for looking good on the beach!
The following are not strictly body types, but they’re probably amongst the biggest issues we women face when picking the right bikini or swimwear, so we’ve given them their very own sections!

Big bust
If this is you and you’re lucky enough to be a curvy lady, then a good choice for a larger bust is a halter neck bikini because they can give you good support as well as a sexy cleavage! It’s probably best to avoid strapless bandeau styles as they won’t give you much support and can look unflattering. Likewise bikinis with tiny tops are best avoided as they won’t provide you with enough coverage and you could well find yourself popping out all over! If you have real problems finding bikinis to fit both your top and bottom halves, then trying buying them separately so you can mix and match sizes. If support is a problem for you, then look out for underwired bikini tops or tank top bikinis with wide straps which will give you that all important extra support.

Small bust
Ladies with smaller busts are lucky because they can wear lots of different styles, including bandeau styles which only really look amazing on you! Make sure you check out bikinis with ruffles and tiny tri top bikinis because only you can wear these well! Go for bright colours on the beach this summer, and check out the Brazilian style bikinis which generally have smaller tops making them perfect for you. For extra impact, try bikinis with padding. It’s always a good idea to choose a bikini that has adjustable straps to ensure a good fit because loose bikini tops are definitely not a flattering look.
