Ahhhh the Monokini, possibly the greatest revolution in swimwear since the bikini.  Monokini swimwear provides the not so confident and in fact the super confident girls that chance to be a little more discrete or possibly a little more seductive than the traditional bikini offers.

Now make no mistake, a monokini should never be called a one piece or a tank suit or a coverall swimsuit.  The monokini properly styled and cut offers discretion in those trouble spots but can also offer a stunning eye grabbing look by highlighting those sensational curves that are highlighted and heightened by the monokini style.

First appearing in the mid 80’s the monokini became the pool side fashion statement, although totally impractical for use in the water.  Today’s monokini is used by those less likely to find themselves in the water as much as the bikini model looking to wow the onlooker.  Monokini swimwear has become the essential must have in any girl’s summer wardrobe.  As essential as the simple tie side bikini, equally a monokini is perfect for those awkward “fat days”.  A true fashion monokini is cut to highlight the sensual curves of all women yet can cleverly combine with a sarong, beach shorts or flirty skirt to create an ideal after 5 pool look or a fabulous outfit for an all day music festival or friends gathering.

As its unique name suggests, monokini swimwear is exactly that, a simple one piece kini as opposed to the bi-kini, the two piece swimsuit.  But as mentioned, the monokini is not to be confused with the drab full coverage one piece.  Perhaps born from necessity the monokini provides  the confidence of full body coverage but in a style and manner that allows alluring design, stunning looks and is assured to capture the stares of admiring onlookers.

Borat and his trek to America, in one of 2007’s funniest movies unfortunately took away some of the glamour of the Monokini, when the lime green crotch highlighting abomination titled a mankini indelibly burnt its vision in our minds (and lets face it the male crotch isn’t the most attractive thing to look at in lycra. But monokini swimsuits can be super stylish for the confident modern day woman, so go out and try one on today, you’ll love it.

Can a tailor make flair leg pants into straight leg pants?

I have a pair of cotton North Face pants that I love EXCEPT the lower leg is a bit flared. The hem falls just below my ankle when I stand, but gives the appearance of being “high waters” due to the flared bottoms. Can a tailor adjust the cut of the lower leg to make them more straight legged? I can only wear these pants with boots now, but I really prefer to wear them with sandals when I travel!
